Event Description

“Hashers!”  Thanks to the efforts of ‘Error 404’ we are back on line.

This Hash follows an old parochial trail from the Brays river, at our base at Danny’s Adventure & Garden, uphill on a 3km trail to Camberwell.  A lovely old, unused trail, with forest cover and views.  From Camberwell (a local bar for halt time refreshments) it’s downhill all way, on an old hardly used parochial road, passing through community names of Ebenezer, Retirement and Rosemount.

Please note.  This is a good Sunday walk – of 9km, (5.5 miles).  The 3km up is not steep, and on clear pathway.  Downhill is on rough tracked, broken road.

Danny’s Garden is a small oasis by the Brays river (which is low at moment) with a fine garden, lawns, a wide variety of flowers, gazebo and bathroom facilities.  Please note a small cost of $200 JMD person (child or adult) is required, in addition to the JAH3  cost of $700JMD.

Hash Directions

The location is only an hour from Manor Park.

Take the main road north up to Stony Hill and the usual main driving route which runs by the Wag Water river, travelling towards the north side.  Pass through Castleton.

Once you reach Broadgate the newly repaired road starts.  Stay on the new road.  You will pass on your left side the main Westmoreland Road bridge.  Keep going and the turning you need is 800 metres further along on the RIGHT side of the road.

The main road is 'fast' at this point.  As the road bends to the right, you will see a rough track road on your right.  Turn RIGHT.  There will be a JAH3 sign.  NB.  There is a brand new bus shelter at the turning, so look out for that as a marker.

Turn up the track road and continue for about 600 metres.  The Gardens are on the left side.  There will be a Hash sign.

Hash Extras

This trail is 9km. It is not difficult walk. It is a track through forest (up gradual climb) and clear of bush. A good level of walking fitness is required. Can be covered in two and half hours. We really are trying to start at 10.30am.
