Event Description
“Hashers!” – we’re back to the forest and hills. Enough of the hot town hashes and hard roads!
This trail is some 5.5km along an old and abandoned road, through forest and emerging above the Newcastle barracks. A beautiful circle route, with large views, and cool forest. Last part is on the quiet road below Newcastle.
Hash Details
No meals at this Hash. Cafe Blue is very nearby on return after the Circle.

Hash Directions
OK, this is very straightforward. You leave Kingston, out past Papine, and take the main driving road, all the way uphill, as if going to Newcastle barracks. From Papine it will take about 45/50 minutes. Drive uphill all the way, passing Irish Town and Cafe Blue (where we have held many recent Hashes) and continue through the Redlight community and on up hill. You will pass Eits cafe and eventually reach to the St Catherine bottling factory (where the large water tankers fill up). About 300 yds past the bottling factory you will see, on you right side, the sign for the Cold Spring Heritage cottage. Enter! A Hash sign will be at the entrance. Some parking is available up the sloping driveway, and through the gate, on the old coffee flats. Otherwise, if full, please park tight alongside the road, just outside, or back at the bottling factory area. NB. If you reach the Newcastle barracks you have gone way too far and missed the signs! Turn round on the parade square and go back down for about 1km. No one can get lost on travelling to this location? Ha!
Hash Extras
This is an easily manageable trail, along old abandoned road, up short inclines through forest to reach other forest paths and road. For those who need detail, it is uphill first and the last half is down hill. All embarrassingly easy. No precipices.
