Event Description
“Hashers!” Already mid January and no one come forward to set Hash, apart the usual! So this Sunday, it’s another Clueless Sherlock trail, to fill the gap. It is a montage of some previous trails and some new sections. We will start at the top end of Savage Pen Rd and trail an 8km circle which takes us down to Gordon Town, down a ruined, old parochial road, to Gordon Town and then up through forest trail to meet the Savage Pen Rd back at the top.
It’s a lovely quiet trail, to get your lungs working for 2025! Fine views of Kingston and Gordon Town and fresh air.
NB. This route will be marked on the day, as you follow, keep up, get lost, following the Hare. So be on time!

Hash Directions
This is straightforward. About 15 minutes from Papine. Take the Newcastle main road, uphill, as if driving to Irish Town. When driving up, you will pass Ellersie Rd on your left, and Cottage Hill Road on your right. Both roads are marked by green road sign posts. About 1.5km further on, you will reach the exit/entrance to the Savage Pen Rd. There are a few stalls/fruit stalls by right side of road. Park up, where can, at side of road or further along the road. This will be our circle.
Hash Extras
We walk along and down the main driving road for about 1km. Then down an abandoned parochial road to Gordon Town. (Cottage Hill Rd). Upon reaching Gordon Town, we go to bottom Savage Pen road and enter forest pathway to back up to main road. The forest route is on clear but narrow pathway. Some of you may have done this route (the other way round) in early 2024. At least 8km long. Down and then up hill. No rivers to cross.
