Seventy hashers came to pay tribute to "Captain Compass" on an 8 km long, steep mountainous run in Newcastle, St. Andrew. Strenuous! But most did finish in Colin's honour. The lovely grounds of the Historic Barbecue, almost opposite Catherine's Peak Bottling Factory, were the perfect backdrop for the ON IN. From here the first "false trail" led up to the JDF camp, thanks to hares Peter "Wrong" Wong, Wendy, David Wong and Chuck "Mother Chucker" Chandonnet, who went the long miles to make it a formidable memorable hash! Rasta Shakespeare found himself a second false trail and continued down taking a short cut through big bamboo and water falls. Finishing the full trail first were two harriettes, Bootcamp and Whirling Broomstick, followed by the Constable. Some hashers gladly took the "service" pick up truck back ON IN to avoid the steepest parts of the trail. It was time to say good bye to Yvonne "Stitcher" Gibson and her daughter Nicola who will return to England's Lake District. I am sure we will hear and see more of them in the future, at least on this site!
