Event Description

The first of 2020!  A moderate hike from Scott’s Hall up lush hill slopes, forest and through meandering gorge of the Wag Water river system. Wet feet certain.

Hash Directions

A straightforward journey. Google says a 29/30km and 46 minutes from New Kingston! Give yourself an hour to reach.

From Stony Hill Square drive downhill and towards Castleton.
Drive through past Castleton. From here it is about another 4km.
On the main road, there is the Grand Hole Bridge.
Turn LEFT just before the bridge. (JAH 3 sign will be there).
Drive for another 1.9km to sign that says “Richmond/Highgate” and turn RIGHT (JAH 3 sign will be there).
Drive for another km or so to a fork with large sign marking “Scot’s Hall Maroons”. Turn RIGHT on Maroon Town Road and drive down spotty road for another 2 or so km to Hash Circle.
NB. The last section of the road is a little rough, but still able for ordinary cars.

Hash Extras

You will cross the Wagwater River twice and get wet to the knees! Bring water shoes to cross river if so inclined. Walking sticks / poles highly recommended. Sticks should be available at a cost of $100 each. Chance to wade in large natural pool. Sedans will have to manoeuvre the last km carefully...
